Midsummer in the making

The first step of the day, when everyone has arrived, will be to make flower crowns and I think this turned out looking really pretty. A great and simple crown to make. After that is done we'll be off dancing like little frogs around the pole.

As for the bar I will make two of these. One to put your drinks on (like a standing table for those who want to stand) and one to put the food on as a buffé bar. For this they simply used pallets and concrete stepping stones which can be found pretty much anywhere. It's cheap to make and I think the grey against the white looks great!

Drink idea no. 1: Lemon Lavender Mojitos
A mix of appetizers, easy and quick to make!
A must on Midsummer is a Strawberry and Cream cake and I just have the right recipe for it that tastes like a slice of heaven.
Somewhere between the pm and am switch the plan is to go to the beach and "swim" (attire depending on drink level).

This year it's my turn to host the Midsummer party, can't wait!! These are some of the ideas I have so far. Thankfully I will have my friend Emilia to help me with all the preparations. Except picking wild flowers for decor there is a lot that has to be decided on och done, like the diy bars, music, drinks. Another thing is the food? Go traditional, mix, or something totally different? Anyone else planning a summer party? or just party in general, feel free to share your ideas and thoughts (drinks, appetizers, games?)! x S.

  1. I've always been so jealous of the Swedish midsummer celebrations. These ideas are both pretty and delicious-looking!
